45 km / 28 miles south from Puerto Maldonado (2 hours by motorboat). There is also one alternative route: 25 km / 16 miles by land (by 4x4 vehicle) to the clittle town of Infierno and then by river to the reserve

This bio-geographical area located between 840 and 3600 masl / 2756 and 11811 fasl, spreads over 4500 hectares. It shelters and protects one of biggest existing forests of the bromeliad, Puyas de Raimondi, along with Andean animal species like the Guanaco. Its climate is characterized by abundant rains between December and April. It is located in a wet highland moor, in the Suni Region. On having come, one will appreciate the enormous biodiversity and the habitats of each of the ecosystems, which represent native flora and fauna with 165 species and 41 families of trees, 103 species of mammals, 1300 species of butterflies and 90 species of amphibians.
